Mobile Crowned as King

With big players like Apple and Samsung well established and leading the way in the mobile sales market, both hardware and software in the sector moves forward every day at pace through a global network of talented developers and tech experts.

Mobile devices are now packed with every functionality a user could wish for, delivered through stunning OLED displays and cleverly thought out user experience designs. This combined with the imminent roll out of 5G creates the clear path that has allowed mobiles to already stamp their authority as the device of choice in relation to web traffic and particularly social media.

5G – The Game Changer

5G will open the door to 4K mobile streaming of video which can’t be ignored and nor can the platforms that target their users with video such as Instagram. The social media platform is gaining rapid popularity and currently benefiting from some advanced and innovative development internally.

“Qualcomm, the wireless chip maker, said it had demonstrated peak 5G download speeds of 4.5 gigabytes a second, but predicts initial median speeds of about 1.4 gigabytes. That translates to roughly 20 times faster than the current 4G experience.”

The Rise of Instagram

As a platform that can be utilised in a number of ways to promote content through photography, video or 3D rendering, Instagram opens a window of opportunity for compelling bespoke marketing content to be published and promoted to a vast audience that are ready and willing to engage.

Instagram currently offer a range of ways of delivering this content, including feed posts which can be promoted to target audiences through video of up to 60 seconds. In addition to this, Instagram stories can keep your followers in the loop with short videos up to 15 seconds and more recently IGTV is available for hosting longer videos in vertical format for up to 10 minutes in length.

Content can be created with the optimum formats for the above delivery types in mind and is well suited to 3D rendering, whether it be 100% computer generated or mixed with traditional video through compositing software.

Property and product promotion are sectors where the platform can be particularly strong. Renders of a dream home or item of interest can be used to show the subject matter in its best light through CGI’s, animations or explainer videos.

“Instagram saw the largest growth in driving purchases over any other social media platform, increasing from 31% in 2017 to 48% in 2018.”

The above points combine to open the door to marketers to use the rich variation of possibilities on the platform to promote their developments or products with engaging content that delivers results and ultimately successful marketing campaigns.
